Subject: Austrian winter pea planting rates

East Central Arkansas
I have some Austrian winter peas to plant as a cover crop on some ground that was in soybeans this year that will be going into cotton next year. I will be using my JD 1700 vacum planter with it off-set and making two passes to plant twin row on 38 in beds. I am wondering what would probably be the lowest seed rate I could use and still get good ground cover. I don't know if I need to use my cotton hilldrop plates or soybean plates. The cotton plates only drop 2 seeds at a time. It's so dry here I really need to wait for a rain but I am going to go ahead and plant and hope they come up after we get some rain.
