Blue Earth, MN | I have been taking some soil samples in the fields that I feel the ground is abnormally "hard".
What I have seen is the first 4-6 inches is "hard". After that it is structured very nicely. The soil probe takes a little effort at first but once past the 6 inch mark it goes in with the same effort to 18 inches. Thus I am concluding that I have a surface compaction issue caused by heavy rains (a few weeks ago) and fall harvest equipment. | |
