Subject: Re: Monsanto in the NY Times this morning

At the coop plot tour a few weeks ago, both the NK guy (callisto+RR2) and Dow rep (2,4-D+RR2) said they were stacking their new traits on RR2. Before they even acknowledge if there is a yield advantage from RR2, they say that then they won't have to be the bean cops. Seems that Big M will do the enforcement of RR2 and Syngenta and Dow can be the good guys still. So then the question is, why does pioneer want to launch gat beans and enforce their own patents? they won't be able to play the nasty monsanto card anymore abou saving seed, unless they want to give their traits away.
