Generally if the field is predicted to yield less than 100 bu of corn, Milo is considered in this area. The problem with milo is poor basis, poor weed control, and....the itch :(

The small elevator near here used to take in 750,000 bu of milo 20 years ago. They might not get 10,000 this year. This year dryland corn beat milo, even on the tougher ground.

The two best things about milo are cheap seed, and excellent grazing for the cows.
