Subject: RE: Iowa jury duty exemption for farmers

A few years ago I was on jury duty in the spring and I didn't get selected but another farmer did and when he asked to get let off so he could plant the judge pretty much told him too bad.  Also the next year my dad was called for jury duty and had to serve on a several day long trial while we were in the middle of planting.

Jury duty is a pain but just think that if you are ever on trial you would want a quality jury and anybody else deserves the same.  I did serve on a jury for a drug case and it only lasted a couple of days but it was interesting and it's something everybody should experience at least once.
