Western illinois | first let's address the repairs needed. is your estimate $10,000 just parts or
parts and labor? that really isn't that much nowdays. i HAD a 2188 with similar
hours to yours that i put $13,000 in about 3 years ago. i say HAD because i was
faced with the same decision as you are. i ended up trading for a 2388 with 1000 hrs.
and will not regret my decision. basically the same machine i had, so no learning curve
to operate it. some very nice features that i didn't have that make my life easier.
we're all getting older! my thought would be, look for a lower houred 2366 that had
a good home. you can keep the heads you're comfortable with. you can trade cheaper
than going to the new series. you will gain HP and performance without huge payments
and a new machine that "throws codes" all the time. That's the complaint i hear the most
from new owners. always throwing codes that keep the machine sitting instead of earning
it's keep. personally, i WAS NOT going to spend $100,000 or more trading combines.
GOOD LUCK. | |
