SC | It sounds like you have pretty much made up your mind to trade. Crunching the numbers will not tell you to trade unless the acres are also changing a lot. I have the same decision to make as you. My 9500 is in its 18th year and I plan to farm for maybe 15 more. I am going to hold off for a few years because the old 9500 still runs well and has a fresh engine. I am leaning towards a bigger low hour machine. I suppose the thing to do is price new and then see what that amount of money will get you in a used machine. My concern is that a big new combine will never be gently used if the farmer has big acres and plans to trade in a year or two. A repo would be even more suspect. | |
