Kansas | As you say, it can happen to anyone (I once almost got blindsided because the pickup that almost hit me was in the cornerpost of the pickup I was driving when I looked that way). As to your dillema; the last year dad was alive I noticed him having close calls with stuff, like coming darn close to tipping over the seed/fert hauler because he turned too short, and last fall when planting wheat he put the pickup in the ditch because he turned before he got to the driveway. Like you say about your dad, mine was pretty much non-chalant about it. I got right on the CB when he'd do this stuff and he'd just say something like "don't worry just pay attention to what you're (me) doing" or "I wasn't even close to going over" and such. Scarry when you are out in the middle of the field and you can see something bad about to happen, especially when it's family. I often specualated that if something really did happen and dad wasn't dead from it he'd still find a way to blame it on anything but himself. I hope you can find a solution before your dad hurts himself or someone else. | |
