The specific locality is Bowhill, which is on the Murray river, but I'm back from the river without irrigation potential. Bowhill, in very rough terms, is 40 kms NE of Murray Bridge, 30 kms NW of Karoonda.  

If you look VERY closely on my patriotic map in the top left corner, you can see a tiny yellow dot  indicating very approx  where  we are. ( just to the right of centre, along the southern edge of the continent, although I'm probably the best part of 100 miles from the ocean.)

Hardly dscribed as beautiful cropping country, being Mallee with calcareous sand and/or limestone. pH often low to mid 8's.
