Subject: Parents still together are a minority

Crawford County, Robinson, Illinois

Your teacher said you are a minority.  Reminds me of when my daughter was in elementery school.  She started encourging my wife and I to get a divorce.  We couldn't understand why she came up with that, and started asking questions.  She explained that every kid in her class had step mothers and step dads, and she thought it would be great to have two sets of parents to spoil her even more.

We began to realize that things were different when we were in school, back in the 50's it was rather hush-hush about children of divorce, we didn't want to disturb the poor kids that had to go through the trauma.

Perhaps the trauma of divorce doesn't exist anymore?  If that is true, some of the parents that are staying together for the sake of the kids might be better off being seperated than fighting most of the time?

November 26 this year will be our 44th year together, we got married later than most.
