Maybe it's just me but I'd sure like to know what they are using to weld up machinery with now vs. years ago. I see this on my early 6 row 7200 planter a 960 field cultivator and a 750 drill. The welds look smooth and pretty but seem pretty high in the joints and just don't seem to have the penetration that they should for maximum strength.

In the previous pictures like in 64 & 67 the weld seems to lack any real penetration. Certainly not like welds one would see on older machinery and especially like you used to see on Oliver tools. There was plenty of steel,and weld and good penetration.

I wonder if these newer welds are the result of going to MIG welders or automated welding processes.
