First thing to always remember about dealing with gov't officials is not to get mad. That is the hardest part of dealing with them, I know. Been there, still rehearsing.
Man, Dave, you are so right on that one!!!! Not so long ago, I was a witness for the defense in a jury trial up against our local county states atty. I had to keep in mind to stay calm and not let him provoke me to anger, which would have only benefitted his case. I stayed cool and was glad I took an extra blood pressure pill that day! Rehearse and don't let emotion get the best of you, is the best advice I can offer. I can't imagine building/sewer inspectors being worse to deal with than an opposing lawyer I'm paying with my own tax $$$ LOL!
