Clean the carbon tracks and grunge off the piece and it might not arc for a while. Teflon or polystyrene are good plastics for microwave power windows,other plastics will heat and melt.

The domestic microwave is typically 750 watts. That's about 2500 btu. There's 98,000 btu per gallon of LP in a perfect combustor, so 750 watts heats about as much as 3/4 cup of propane.
