Theoretically, yes. Practically, no. You would need to have the display, YMIU (from an AFS combine), header-height potentiometer to control data logging, and GPS receiver (plus appropriate harnesses/cabling to tie it all together). Then you could set the display to log data without crop flow (using the harvest firmware), and use the feeder pot to turn logging on and off. Not easy or financially practical, but possible. Also not something that your dealer or AFS support is likely to offer any help on.

If you just have the AFS display with planter firmware installed in a tractor, but not connected to the planter, the display will go to sleep when it doesn't find an MIU. If you put harvest firmware in the display and install it in the tractor, it will power up ok, but it will throw YMIU errors and you would have no way to control data logging (no switch).

The AFS Pro600 with color software can be used for coverage mapping without being connected to a 1200 planter.
