central - east central Minnesota -

Have the poles sawed into squares (or close to it, if they are smaller dia pole). If they look newer the inspector shouldn't notice. This gives you a chance to see what's inside also, incase the pole is dry split too much. Now it can be compared to normal poles. I'd also see what your insureance person has to say about the completed building (your plans) and if they approve - ask county for a vaiance to the code for you to use your "renewed" poles as your insurance company approves. Just a thought . . .
