Subject: Re: John Deere 9870 vs. Case 8120

East Prairie, MO

I agree about the 1 display, just a tad busy wouldn't you say? I got the chance to run an 8120 with a 30' MacDon FD in RICE yesterday. I've never been in a combine cutting rice but a friend that runs 2 9770's and 2 9760's got the chance to demo the machine and I couldn't resist the chance to check it out. I'm all about Red combines and thought it had lots of good features, my favorite being that you can push a button while unloading to stop the floor augers in the bin to let the unloader clean out so you don't have to fold it up loaded if you need to, NICE! He commented that the Case was lots quieter than the Deere and he really liked it to the point he could see having them. He liked the ability to reverse the rotor as well and much simpler, you can stand at the back and see all the way to the front of the rotor, everything is easy to get to for sure.
