Ea. Washington | IMO hearing aids are just little microphones attached to little speakers with some kind of volume control. The self employed are at the mercy of hearing aid salesmen (audiologist). Some are good and try to help you, others are out to sell an aid no mater. People who are eligible for L@I get the most expensive ones around but they don't seem to work any better than others. Have bought them from everybody and the best working and most reasonable ones came from Costco. Also guaranteed for 2 years instead of one as most are. Also guaranteed against loss for 2 years. Same ones are available on the net, you go to an ENT to get a hearing test and send results to company and they tune the aid for you. Downside is if you need further adjustment it's a hassle. Don't think any of them are perfect but beats the heck out of saying HUH all the time. | |
