What was your rate of Sonic and what texture is your soil? After reading over many herbicide trials with various chemicals used pre and post, I found Sonic to be on of the best choices for me in terms of yield, crop response, and weed control.
We used Sonic this year and looking like we might have some pretty good beans, but we are WAY ABOVE AVERAGE for rainfall. It looks like I hit my Sonic rate just right, but could have upped my Prowl.
The past couple years haven't been the best for beans on ground that had Lumax (also has Callisto) carry-over in our area. We are on lighter soil, but it isn't blow sand by any means. Usually notice it on point rows and other doubled-up areas.
I think I'd put my money on Callisto damage over Sonic damage if both labels were followed correctly and maybe you were limitied on rainfall last year?
