Subject: Re: Hearing aids

Franklinton, LA
You have already received a lot of good advice. However, I would like to add my $0.02 worth. I purchased a pair of Seimens hearing aids from a dealer about 1997. I think the hearing aids were OK but the knowledge of the dealer and poor service were very disappointing. About 2004 I purchased a pair of Sharkey hearing aids from an audiologist. An ear, nose and throat Doctor is also involved in this operation. I paid for a hearing test and the doctor who gave me a very through examination. The hearing aids cost a lot. However, the audiologist has a staff that frequently attend training sessions provided by Sharkey. Hearing aid batteries, hearing aid cleaning and adjustments are free for as long as I use the hearing aids. I pay for a hearing test and examination every 2 years and they used this data to fine tune the settings on the hearing aids. I am very happy with the hearing aids and the well trained people who take care of my hearing aids. I have received a lot better return on my investment by going with a first class group of well trained professionals. Good luck with your decision.
