West Texas | When I bought a quarter section in June, it was wrote in the contract that the farm was leased and would remain in the lessee's control until after harvest at which time he would mow and disk all of the land he had leased. No problem until after he disked the land. He then came to me and said that he had just had a lot of drainage work done the previous spring and he had the assumption that his lease was good for another 5 years. He wanted me to continue the lease or pay him for all the drainage work. I let him read the contract and told him that he would just have to take it up with the seller that I was going just by the contract. | |
