As a buyer, I'd not be real happy about being asked to pay yet another bill.
Are you asking the seller for the money, as in you were prevented by his action from recouping your investment?
Then the seller should build that extra value of the property into the selling price.
But, it can upset folks a little, and the point will be you did know it could be sold, so it was your doing with full knowledge to invest the money, not anyone else's.
As a buyer I'd probably go along with paying for the fert value if a soil test shows it is there, but I'd not be interested in paying application costs. If I hear about it be4 I close. Meet you part way, pay for the value of the product.
Can see all sides of the issue, don't know what result you will get.
