NW central IL | got in some 61-21 yesterday, was worried about it after reading all this. was planted 4-11, corn on corn, 32% weed and feed/ sidedressed, sprayed with tilt, got some monster rains in june, dry july. it was planted tandem with 61-69. although its behind 7-10 bu. its not falling out of bed, like some said. the ears are 20-22 around, and combining nicer then i thought, with 6169.... with its fat kernals at 16 around.... it'll be interesting when i get into some 61-22 to compare it against a brother rather then a cousin...
looks to me 61-69 is going to have yet another good year in its maturity range "here". drainage is king yet another year here also. we were wetter this early summer then last. yields are good where its drained, ****ty where it isn't. my Pio K04 is the corn that disappointed me most so far. shallow kernals, all corn so far is weighing good, so far...even the ko4 weigh'd 58.7 lbs with the shallow kernals. it just took a bunch for a bushel | |
