 | I have been tracking air and soil temperatures in various situations since 2002. The reason i started doing this was because we are continuous no-till and wanted to know what was going on. I haven`t done any comparisons as to temperature vs yield as yet but am looking for the right situation where i could get a objective test.
As to the soil termometer i use is what they call data loggers. They have sensors attached to them that can be placed in the soil or can sense air temperature also. They can be programed as to the sampling interval i have mine set to record every 15 minutes.
You then download them every once in a while to a computer to process the data.
The ones i use are from Onset computer co. and are labeled HOBO`S
I bought them from Glemplers but they are now obsolete for the reason they used the serial port to transfer the data now they have newer ones that use the usb port.
Also they seem to be more expensive than they use to be.
The only other place i can think of right off hand is spectrum technology`s.(sp)
