 | I think that's pretty typical for fertilizer around here.  It's what I do, but our fertility levels are high and I'm cruising along at maintenance levels or even drawing down a little now.  Most people split apply the N, about half just as the frost is going out, and then the rest mid to late April.  I applied AMS on the first application and 28 on the second. 
 We no-till and try to hit about 1.5 million seeds/acre.  We usually have between 12,000 and 15,000 seeds/lb so 100 to 125 lbs/acre.  And 12,000 is more typical than 15,000.
