Subject: Re: Are all grease zerks the same size?

Abilene, Texas
We went through the same thing last year. Replaced some zerks and had trouble getting the tip to stay on. We changed tips on the guns and still we wasted lots of grease. Finally got the calipers out and started measuring and found the whole batch of new zerks that we had bought (one of those kits with multiple thread sizes and head angles) had heads that were quite a bit smaller than our old zerks. Went to a local high quality ( and expensive) hardware supplier and asked for one of their kits to compare with and it contained the appropriate size heads and we had no more problems.
