 | Here's the deal, the Hercluex trait is a pain in the a$$ to get into a corn plant. That is big part of the reason pioneer has been getting its but kicked since traited corn came out. Anybody remember 34A?? from pioneer? It was good corn as a RR but when they put Hercluex on it the yield got killed. It is very tricky to get HX to accept into the corn plant. Some varieties accept it just fine and others don't. This is the reason you won't see a bunch of SS next year and you will see VT3Pro instead, they haven't figured out where to place the HX trait in the corn plant on some varieties. As they figure it out you will see more SS hybrids available. 99% of the hybrids that are SS are good conversions but there is always going to be a few that slip thru. It looks like 61-21 might be one of those hybrids. I've seen a lot of SS corn at the top's of several plots this year already. | |
