 | I understand what you mean. Our corn was still green but was 12.5 moisture. The fields that looked like easy 150 bu corn averaged 130. Hot and dry august took it's toll on it. But I still don't understand why the plants were still green (plenty of moisture one would assume) but yield was down and kernels were small.  It surprised me on how much one rain can help you. One field went 165 that got a popup shower and 3 miles north went 130 that didn't get it.  Being a young farmer, this is a year that I learned a lot from and won't forget. |  |
