I always plant my own bin run seed, which I know is not free, but how are guys making any money planting 2 to 2-1/2 bu./acre of wheat seed that costs $18 to $20/50 lb. bag? It costs as much as a bag of beans and I got to add N to the wheat. If it weren't for the straw for my cows I wouldn't even plant any at all.
How do guys make money buying wheat seed?
