West Central Alberta Coldest, wettest edge
 | Reading the prices of land almost everywhere else makes me want to sell out and move, anywhere else. Here in West Central Alberta Canada, $2000 and up per acre. This is for old tired pasture or hayland mostly. If it is really poor farmland, it is called recreational, and sells for much much more. Most land sells to city people looking for a weekend place with a mountain view. Rent around 35 an acre, makes ROI very poor. And we are not growing a 300 bushel corn crop obviously. I believe alberta average is 50 bushel barley crop. Hay might return $100 per acre. Pasture even less. |
