Southeast Colorado | You probably already know by my map dot but we have all that you have and more! Same or worse moisture conditions but a lot of bindweed so you still have to spend money on weed control. In fact on the dry years, the bindweed will spread more and become tougher to kill with herbicides. With all of that said, things look pretty good here this year. You have to remind yourself to really enjoy the good year because there will be several of the tough ones. I've noticed driving east towards Garden City KS that the area looks pretty bad compared to most years. Even a lot of the irrigated corn doesn't look very good. That is not normal there so it must have been a really tough summer. | |
