Tilley, Alberta
The cones were manufactured locally just south of Tilley a few miles by Oasis Trailer Mfg. These were $3750 each delivered, with paint color of your choice and ball bearing slide gates. The cones look good overall, however there was one that looked like I welded it! Let's just say it wasn't as pretty as the rest. Smileyfarms, at this point we do have enough crops to fill them, however it is still a wildcard until they are all in the bin. Barley looks OK, wheat and triticale look pretty fair, but this year the soybeans look better than we have ever seen them up here. Time will tell, however.
Mennoboy, the reason we cut the bottoms off the bins is that over the years they bent from the floors giving up in places. Also, that lip would indeed be problematic.
Gambler, these are 15' 10" diameter Behlen Wickes 2911 bins, and yes the stiffeners ran down the entire length to the floor, so they had to be trimmed back accordingly.
