Subject: corn plant shadding

Clark SD
I have been reporting on a field where corn was planted into spring wheat stubble. Data was collected on the soil temps of spring wheat residue, 10 inch wide cleared strip at planting (residue mananagers on planter) and a block that was cleared of all residue(bare soil). Putting a chart to the maximum daily soil temps i found that the temperatures basically merged on 6/11. At that time the corn was between 12 to 15 inches tall(4 to 5 leaf collars).
