I Googled "Cornsuitabilityrating".....I wondered myself

Rating based on row crop production,climate,soil properties,erosion potential,etc. partially based on soil mapping.

Rating is from zero to 100

my guess csr farms rated at 85 - 100 are extremely rare

rating system used also by tax assessors

Interesting enough and in depth enough to account for changes in local climate and agricultural technology
