Central Kansas | The fella that's hauling my corn called this morning and ask if we could start this afternoon. I said we could so moved the grain cart and combine down to the river bottoms. Cut the ends off and moisture was right at 15%, then started on the longer rows. The monitor showed the yield to be all over the board. Not quite done with this small field but estimating it's making 130 BPA. Kind of disappointed, thought it might go 150 but that isn't going to happen. Too much heat and 5 weeks without rain during the filling stage. Test weight was surprisingly good, 60.5 Talked to my seed man and he said my yield was about same compared to others here in this area so I don't feel too bad. You always want more...LOL
