A lot of times you can adjust the valve cal number to slow the valve down to keep it from hunting so much. You don't mention the type of valve you are running, so I don't have anything to offer you on that. Is the speed staying nice and steady as it displays on the 450 as you go? There are some generic cal numbers that usually work pretty well (2123 for a STD valve, 743 for a Fast valve, 43 for a PWM valve), but running at the low end of what the system can handle will sometimes require you to slow the valve down, or increase the deadband percentage that it will try to control to. There should be a page in your 450 manual that describes all of this better than I can type it out here, I keep a 440 manual handy for any kind of sprayer control work, just for that page.
