Different strokes for different folks.

I do not like to water yard grass. I really like a nice summer dormant yard! If it will not put food on the table I do not water it.

Most people cut their grass way too short.

Think of all the fertilizer you are taking off the ground by bagging the clippings. Not just nitrogen, but all the essential elements.
Think about fertilizing a pasture and fertilizing a hay meadow. A pasture requires maybe a third of the fertilizer a hay field does.

Here fertilizer cost no more than water, and up to a point the more fertilizer applied the less water needed for good growth.


It is obvious I did not teach my values to my grown children or grandchildren! They all live in town and town values have taken root.
