Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning.

It's good to hear that your crops have potential this year also. Lets hope the weather holds to get them to full maturity.

So far, what we've cut and tested for pro. has been surprisingly good -- as in 14% to 15%. As of right now, something in the market's not adding up though because pro. premiums and discounts are both disappearing. As was the case during the great Russian grain deal, when wheat got scarce, wheat was wheat and no one seemed to care about what the pro. was. They just wanted the bushels and paid for them for a while. Could this year be similar, only no Tricky Dickie around to impose an embargo to put the brakes on?

Wane tangled with a small patch that the sawflies had been into and he had to scrape the ground to get most of it. He seemed to be pleased with the lateral tilt, and everything else that resulted in a much better job than we were able to do with the 27' header. I guess the solution for the ridges you're getting hung up on is a flex draper. Custom cutters working for the neighbor across the fence had a rather interesting contraption hooked to the feederhouse of one of their yellow machines. I think it would nicely address the scalping of ridges you're seeing. Happened to glance at the serial # plate and who was really building it. Somewhat interesting and the Ser # had a X- preceeding the number. I also had a nice visit with a guy that was following the header around the harvest circuit.

Take care.
