Subject: spray blister beetles in soybeans or not?

nc ks
I was changing the gates on my flood irrigation tonight about dark, can't see the pipe so I was bending over into the beans to open gates. All of a sudden all the pods were moving, I came up out of there fast. On closer inspection, i have striped blister beetles swarming. They are in two or three groups (that I saw) along the pipe at the headlands. They are super thick where I saw them and are just starting the defoliation. Materials I read tonight say they will probably severely defoliate the areas where they are swarming but that they will probably remain on the field borders. They say that they are very beneficial for grass hopper control. Anybody have experience with them in soybeans and the extent of damage they can cause? I could easily spray the swarms I saw with a hand sprayer. Would you spray them?
