Colby, KS | The guy I have harvest my milo runs Macdon drapers with some sort of pickup teeth on the sickle that look like the Gaterman crop lifters. 3 years in a row I have had 100% lodging -- literally nothing left standing. I'm convinced the drapers with the pickup teeth will pick up more milo than a row head can. I would think a flex head would do similarly....but a pickup reel sure would help.
I had some milo last year that was yielding around 100 and I think he only left 10-15 bushels on the ground and he was picking it up out of a little snow!
