Yes, Syngenta is still a large ag company (largest if you factor in crop protection), but 3rd for seeds as reported by Farm Journal and several other sources. The fact is, the gap between 1st and 2nd (Monsanto and Pioneer) place verus 3rd place is so large that Syngenta gets left out of the hype.
No, Syngenta is NOT owned or partially owned by Monsanto.
I grow Syngenta corn and soybean products and truely see a step change in product performance and trait offerings for future. They finally have the technology to compete with the Big 2 and narrow the gap in market share. Just my opinion. Not that Pioneer and Monsanto don't have good products, they do, obviously, but there is now a 3rd player in this game.
