southern MN | An elevator is a place of business, where Osha & many other govt agencies are at work to regulate it. I'm sure there is such a regulation that covers those places.
Farmers have pretty much been exempt from such things. As farms get larger, and have more fulltime & parttime employees, and the job of raising food & feed becomes more of a business place rather than the farm homestead....
These same rules will apply to all of us.
