Hey Bob-I think what I would do is "convert" it-I intend to do that to my R12 recovery unit when there's no more left. (Gettin' close)...Flush it out & change the drier, it should have a drier in it if it's like mine & most of them. The fittings are no problem, go to the parts house & get "vacuum pump" fittings. They adapt the R12 fitting to the metric Acme for 134. It's "legal" to use them on a vac pump, since it doesn't cross-contaminate...Cross-contamination isn't the big boogeyman like it was, but I still wouldn't use it for both. If you flush it out & dedicate it to 134, it should avoid any problems that way. How much you want for that R12? ;o) -I still have a few customers with it in combines, etc...
