| Correct. The 8000 series was all AGCO and was a bit more MF-based as these tractors were built in Coldwater, Ohio for the first few years and then in Beauvais, France the remaining years to present day. No more White powertrain in them. The 6000s were badged as AGCO White tractors but were largely White (cab and rear end) with a Funk-sourced powershift trans and continuing the Cummins engine. In the last years of this series ('96 into early '97) the Charles City foundry was already closed but AGCO placed a significant final order for the traditional White transaxles in order to get them through until the introduction of the 8000 series. The foundry was never moved, but I do wonder if AGCO didn't retain the molds for certain castings in production at the end, such as for the transaxle. | |
