 Leesburg, Ohio | We have our own base, and use a repeater for one farm that's further away than the others. A Deere repeater is only about $1300, last i checked. it simply sticks on top of any vehicle in the area between the base and where you're working, so not difficult, complicated or expensive.
Yes, precision is expensive, but if you make the whole investment in an integrated system that works with ALL your equipment, it will pay for itself quickly. Using one expensive systen just for guidance on a few operations is not going to have a very good return compared to a fully functional system that serves many purposes on many operations on all your equipment. if you are going to spend the money, make sure the system can do it all: guidance PLUS swath control, variable rate application, yield monitoring. the swath control, when used on all planting and spraying ops is our best ROI.
