The beans are waist high but I sure don't like the looks of them after walking them.


I find that interesting! You know the soybean yield is made in August around here. From what I can see the plant has lots of potenial we just need to get the right weather (a big part of this is moisture) from here on out and then the yield will be determined. Many times over the years right up till the combines roll we have been fooled a bit by guesses to the yield of our soys.

We had had it before where tall soybeans are "all vine and no bean". Usually find this out with the combine. Keep going back to look for a grain leak in the machine!

All vine and no bean......sounds like a coffee shop around here.

BTW I'll take tall beans any day over short ones. (easier to feed in the combine head).

But..... short ones can yield well, as you probably know. Height isn't a great determining factor imho.
