| Jim, I've gotten no where with Ford on this issue. No surprise huh? Had to have the vehicle repaired in the meantime tho. I've called Ford, sent them a detailed letter along with photos, the repair order and various other articles that I found online regarding this serious problem. I just sent them an e-mail about it in the last 30 minutes or so as well as an e-mail to NHTSA. I am so disgusted with this whole ordeal. When I called Ford they told me to take my repair order to my local Ford dealership (I did not have it repaired at our local dealership or even a Ford one for that matter...labor rates toooo expensive) they wouldn't come right out and say it so I had to dig and I asked why I should take it to our local dealership...she kind of hinted that THEY might reimburse me. Well I tried that and you guessed it, they basically laughed at me and get this the dealership said this 'happens all the time' with Windstars and Freestyles!! Can you believe that?! This is serious stuff. As you said this should NEVER happen. I am just astounded at the lack of response but I shouldn't be surprised since afterall this is a big company with no human face to it. I keep seeing more and more people writing online about this and what has happened to them. Is Ford waiting for people to die first? I just read something on another website that now the front subframes on Windstars are rust-prone!! Great news isn't it?! Now here's yet another serious problem to be worried about. Time for us to ditch this vehicle and rethink anything 'Ford', that's for sure!! I'll post anything if I ever get anywhere with them and let you know what happens. Wish me luck. | |
