Subject: Feeder beater vs. feeder chain

Agent Orange: Friendly fire that keeps on burning.

Several years ago, there was a guy who posted on both this forum and Gordon's Harvesting.com. He went by "Wind, a combine guy"

Every once in a while, I find myself around someone who knows a whole lot more than I, on a given subject. On these ocasions, I shut my mouth, act like I don't know anything, and just listen. When the guy is done talking or posting, I'm considerably more learned. Wind was one of those guys. He was one of the engineers that was involved with the early Gleaner rotary efforts. Dated back to when they had the rotor mounted down front, just behind the header. He was the guy who commented on the feeder chain. He had quite a few other insights on the thought processes that went along with other innovations that showed up in the Gleaner rotaries.
