Kansas
Yea yea yea... they do it all bigger up north. I've heard it all before. Some reason those swathers the guiders are wider along with the crimper rolls. LOL

My point I'm making jet fuel genius is you do NOT have to have that sort of money wrapped up to make hay. I don't give a damn how many acres you have. You can run older used equipment and get along just fine instead of having the newer stuff. I'm sure John manages just fine. I have no doubt he justifies all he has. I'm not degrading or criticizing his operation. I merely wanted to know how he came to a million dollar haying operation. A question for him, not you, because even if you have been there, I somewhat doubt you know in its entireity what he had down to the value.

Now as for your other screwy comments.... No ferts applied down here. No lime is applied down here (well... I say down... down from his neck of the world... up from yours just so we stay p.c.). Herbicide for what? After the first cutting you got all the weeds. Insecticide yes, for the first cutting to get rid of the weavels but thats applied with an airplane so you don't knock down hay.

Yes, of course, geological region plays a key role in every operations difference. From a dryland northern ks setup though..... those are not exactly need to have machines.

I feel a lil poetic tonite. I'm thinking one about SE KS farmers that are jet fuel geniuses..... Maybe make it into a song and you can choreograph the dance. LOL.... j/k.
