southern MN | I put in a Cobett 10 years ago or so, one of the best things I did in this cold climate. No electric cost, gotta check the water once a day anyhow, if it skins over with ice (rarely, in severe windchill or the cattle decide not to drink in minus temps for 1/2 a day...) just bust it up & good to go for another 24 hours. I have gravity feed from a cistern, perhaps 5lbs of pressure, they have a design to deal with that.
Been worry free, good working. Simple idea really.
