| Lots of different kinds of plastics. Saying that they are all the same is like saying that all metals are the same (steels, aluminum, magnesium, pot metal, etc.). It is a dis-service. Compatibility charts for acids, bases & organics can be found at places like www.usplastic.com or www.mcmaster.com. Would guess that McMaster will actually have a write-up on choosing the right pump. They have write-ups for many things from bolts to you-name-it. There is a reason that many fuel cans today are plastic and are rated for gasoline, ethanol blends, diesel, biodiesel blends, kerosene, etc. The compatibility issues with pumps generally isn’t with the base material of the pump but with seals and gaskets. There you need to understand that gaskets suitable for diesel may not be suitable for diesel blends with biodiesel. |
